In this section, you will find stories, poems, prose and other works from other writers. Anything NSFW will be tagged as such, poetry will be tagged as 'poem'. Anything that requires trigger warnings will be noted at the top of the piece. Please heed these warnings and take care when reading.

Shane Connelly pushed open the door of his new bedroom and set his box of belongings on thedesk that had gotten there before him. He instantly began taking out the items that were inside: his twoMarshall Stanmore II Bluetooth speakers, his desk lamp and his HP printer. He set them up around theroom in the places that they would be most effective, and he went back down to the first floor of his houseto retrieve another box, meeting his younger sister at the bottom of the stairs. She had her arms crossedover her chest and her lips were locked in a pout.

Juanita stood at the counter waiting for her mocha latte, extra foam with whipped cream.  It was her self care treat, if anyone asked. The coffee shop was busy, which shouldn’t have surprised her but it did.  She hoped she wouldn’t have to sit outside. It was May, still too early for summer weather to stick around, and despite the sunshine she wasn’t looking forward to huddling over her coffee cup while people in shorts and T-shirts tried to catch some rays sipping their iced coffee.

When the taxi pulled up to the location my friends had sent to me, I was almost tempted to tell the driver to bring me back home. Shaking my head, I paid the man and climbed out. At the front of the venue, there was a large sign advertising the horror movie we were supposed to watch in the pumpkin patch tonight. That wasn’t the part I had a problem with. I was actually looking forward to it.

Untitled by Annie - Poem

Annie is a mom, wife, and nurse who also dabbles in writing. She has memories of writing poetry and short fiction as far back as kindergarten. She finds much of her inspiration in the mountains surrounding the city where she lives. When Annie isn't working, momming, or writing she is trying her hardest to make "grannycore" a way of life by yarn crafting (yes, she could knit you a hat), cooking, reading, talking to her plants, and drinking tea while hanging out with her two cats--Isla and Big Lou.
