What’s Your Secret? by Lois "Steaming" Rainbow

Cornelius “Nell” Ellsworth lived to be 226 years old. Since year 112, reporters interviewed him many times.

One recurring question he refused to answer, “What is the secret to long life?”

He would simply shrug and eventually they gave up.

On his death bed, the reporters asked him a lot of things. Finally, one young reporter posed the taboo question.

Nell looked her in the eye and responded, “The fates never cursed me to be mortal, because whether I needed to pass it on to 1 friend or 1000, I obeyed every chain letter.” He grinned. “Recently, I missed one.”

Lois started writing 100 word stories a little over a decade ago, after being inspired by another writer they met through NaNoWriMo. (Shout out to Neil Murton.) Born in the swamps of Louisiana, Lois crawled out finding ways to escape reality and live in their imagination. Writing has always played a part in that. When they're not writing, Lois loves to immerse themself in all kinds of suspenseful and thrilling media, from books to video games, while cuddling their two dogs, Daisy and Leia.
