The Golden Girl (Poem)

I want to be near her.

She is beautiful, but it’s so much more than that.

I want to bask in her light;

The glow of her smile,

The spun sunshine of her hair,

The golden shimmer of her honey eyes.

The radiance of her heart, even at a distance,

Warms my cold bones, like a sunset on a summer day.

Her presence colors my gray scale world,

Like a painter with a palette of hope, love, and kindness.

Its a privilege to occupy the same space,

A religious experience to share the same air.

A golden goddess among men.

How blessed I am to be called her friend.

I love her, and I am better for knowing her.
